Muah Chee (Glutinous Rice Snack With Peanut & Sugar)

Muah Chee or Glutinous Rice Snack With Peanut & Sugar is a popular Chinese snack. The traditional method for this recipe is to steam the rice flour batter and then kneading them until you have an elastic dough. I have done that several times in the past, but I found a better method from ZaTaYa Zong Han Yummy YouTube channel. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients in a non-stick pan, cook, stir, and knead with a sturdy rubber spatula. That's all there is to it, remember to check out my video and see how I make them.

Muah Chee (Glutinous Rice Snack With Peanut & Sugar)

Ingredients
1/2 Cup of Glutinous Rice Flour
A Pinch of Sea Salt
2 Tsp of Peanut or Shallot Oil
6 Tbsp of Water

1/2 Cup of Roasted Peanuts, finely ground
2 Tbsp Cane Sugar

Method

Combine the chopped peanuts with sugar and mix well.

Place the glutinous rice flour, sea salt, peanut oil, and water in a non-stick pan. Mix until the batter is smooth.

Cook the batter on low heat until the it thickens. Then gather and spread the thick batter until a smooth dough has form. When the dough is ready, remove from the heat. Spoon some peanut mixtures into the pan. Cut the dough into smaller pieces with a rubber spatula. Coat the small pieces of dough with the peanut mixtures. Serve immediately.

Dumplings

I'm actually laughing at myself! What have I got into? Trying to make dumplings?? Well, I have seen my late grandmother make them a long time ago. I can remember the ingredients but not the measurements! So, it took me about two hours to come up with the perfect recipes, and I'm glad I did! It was an instant hit! They were all gone, all gobbled up! Make the dough first, add about 480 to 500g of all-purpose flour with 300ml of water. Knead the dough and let it rest. You should be able to make 40 dumplings with the dough. Meanwhile, prepare the filling for the dumplings. Click here for the dumpling wrappers video.
