Grilled Beef Skewers With Pineapple

This is one of my favorite grilled beef kebab recipes, juicy and so tasty. I have adapted the seasoning from the popular Vietnamese Bo Luc Lac or also known as Shaking Beef dish. Check out the video tutorial and learn how to make this yummy beef.

Grilled Beef Skewers With Pineapple

Ingredients

2 Sirloin Steaks (about 650 grams), cut into 1-inch cubes
1/4 Medium Ripe Pineapple, cut into 3/4 inch thick cubes
2 Red Onion, cut into small wedges

Marinate
2 tsp Oyster Sauce
1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Clove Garlic, finely chopped

Sauce
4 Tbsp Peanut Oil
2 Tbsp Lime Juice
1 Tbsp Fish Sauce
1 Tbsp Sugar

Bamboo or Metal Skewers
Direct Heat

Method

Marinate the beef cubes with oyster sauce, soy sauce, and garlic for about 3 to 4 hours in the refrigerator. Allow the meat to stand at room temperature for 25 to 30 minutes before grilling.

Prepare the charcoal for direct cooking over medium to high heat.

Thread the onion, meat, and pineapples alternately onto the metal or bamboo skewers. Baste the skewers with the prepared sauce and turn over and cook the other side. Grill the skewers for 6 to 8 minutes, or to your desired doneness.

Serve with some green mango salad or any of your favorite salad.

Dumplings

I'm actually laughing at myself! What have I got into? Trying to make dumplings?? Well, I have seen my late grandmother make them a long time ago. I can remember the ingredients but not the measurements! So, it took me about two hours to come up with the perfect recipes, and I'm glad I did! It was an instant hit! They were all gone, all gobbled up! Make the dough first, add about 480 to 500g of all-purpose flour with 300ml of water. Knead the dough and let it rest. You should be able to make 40 dumplings with the dough. Meanwhile, prepare the filling for the dumplings. Click here for the dumpling wrappers video.
