Sambal Petai With Shrimps

This is a recipe for Sambal Petai With Shrimps. It's spicy but milder than the recipe that I have posted earlier. To those who are not familiar with Petai, it's also commonly known as Sator, or Sataw beans, and might taste quite peculiar to some people. There are many health benefits for Petai too. Here is the link, if you're keen on learning more about it.

200 g Peeled Petai
150 g Four Angled Beans, sliced
250 g Peeled Shrimps
3 to 4 Tbsp Peanut Oil
2 to 3 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Chicken Powder
3 to 4 Kalamansi, juiced
2 Tbsp Water
Sea Salt to taste

6 Thai Bird’s Eye Chilies, chopped
4 Shallots, roughly chopped

  1. This looks really good even though I'm not a fan of petai... I think I'll just pick out the shrimps and eat them hehe.

Dumplings

I'm actually laughing at myself! What have I got into? Trying to make dumplings?? Well, I have seen my late grandmother make them a long time ago. I can remember the ingredients but not the measurements! So, it took me about two hours to come up with the perfect recipes, and I'm glad I did! It was an instant hit! They were all gone, all gobbled up! Make the dough first, add about 480 to 500g of all-purpose flour with 300ml of water. Knead the dough and let it rest. You should be able to make 40 dumplings with the dough. Meanwhile, prepare the filling for the dumplings. Click here for the dumpling wrappers video.
