Fried Banana's also known as Goreng Pisang in Malaysia is one of my favorite deep-fried snacks, made with ripe bananas and coated with batter before deep-frying. It's a simple snack, but they taste so good!
Goreng Pisang/Deep-Fried Bananas
Ingredients
8 Ripe Bananas (Pisang Awak/Vietnamese Choui Tay) peeled, halved
Oil for deep-frying
Batter
100 grams Rice Flour
60 grams All-Purpose Flour
½ tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Sugar
3/4 to 1 Cup of Water
A pinch of Turmeric Powder
Method
Combine all the ingredients for batter and mix well.
Pour enough oil into a wok or deep-fry on medium heat. Coat the bananas with batter and fry until golden brown in color. Remove the fried bananas with a slotted spoon and drain on papers and serve warm.
The Malaysian tea time favourite snack! Of course it is Good to make this at home instead of buying at the road side!
ReplyDeleteOh your beautiful pisang goring transported me back to the days when I was living in Malaysia. My friend and I used to buy them from the roadside stall for our afternoon tea with a cup of hot Kopi-O. I remember the oil they used to deep fried the banana fritters were almost like the colour of black coffee! So it is more healthy to fry your own. Thanks for sharing.
