ReplyDeleteYummmm. Sounds so good. When my kids were small, I froze thin slices of bananas for them summertimes, but wish I'd thought of this for an occasional extra-special treat. Oh well, I've got grandkids I can try this one on and I know it will be a hit! Thanks.

This looks like such a fun and easy dessert! Great idea! =)
ReplyDeleteThese look delicious. They could easily be adapted to use other fruit or other coatings too.
ReplyDeleteSimple and so pretty! I'm going to try this with my favorite dark chocolate and all natural peanut butter for a healthy treat!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in junior high school we used to stop after school and get chocolate covered frozen bananas for a snack. Your post sure brought back memories, and this seems like an updated adult version that I'll need to try!
ReplyDeleteI love you blog! It's one of the most interesting blogs i've seen on the web! I'll keep watching you and see what amazing things you make.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. We didn't cook with many sweets at culinary school (I wrote about it here: "Culinary School: Three Semesters of Life, Learning, and Loss of Blood" http://amzn.to/eOKJWw), but reading this, I wish we had.
ReplyDeletemmmm this looks sooo good! i love frozen bananas and frozen pb. never thought about adding both of them together!
ReplyDeleteI am in love.
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteI just tried this recipe. It tastes good but I have a question. Do you have issues where the chocolate-peanut butter mix won't stick on the banana chunks? can you advice on that?
ReplyDeleteOoh frozen banana, choc and coconut. Delicious combi and looks so, so good. It reminds me of lamingtons from afar.
ReplyDelete@Pei Suen: Thanks for trying the recipe. No, I don't have any issue with the banana not sticking with the chocolate-peanut butter mixture. However, I find that, if you freeze the banana for a longer period, perhaps three hours. The chocolate mixture will definitely stick to the banana, and you can serve it immediately after coating it with shredded coconut. Try it! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou really can't go wrong with that flavour combo!
ReplyDeletewow, i really love this idea... my favorite flavors too
ReplyDeleteThose are a perfect snack.
ReplyDeleteI just made these and I had the same issue with the chocolate not sticking to the banana very well so they were kind of messy but still yummy!
ReplyDeleteI found the mixture didn't want to stick after doing a few slices and realized it's because the bananas begin to melt and are too slippery for the mixture to adhere. Next time, I'll only take a few slices from the freezer at a time and that should solve the problem. These bites are delicious, easy to make and addictive.
ReplyDeletehi, do you have any alternatives to peanut butter, due to allergies?
ReplyDeleteTry almond butter.
