This must be the easiest cake recipe to bake, even a novice baker will succeed! Best of all, the cake is moist and tastes so good! I got the recipe from one of my fellow Foodbuzz publisher, The Food Librarian. Do check out her wonderful blog with loads of mouth-watering recipes and not to mentioned great pictures too:)
Recipe adapted from Vintage Victuals via The Food Librarian
Cinnamon Chocolate Bundt Cake
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
5 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Method
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a large bundt pan with cooking spray. Put butter, water, oil, and cocoa in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil.
Meanwhile, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour the chocolate mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix well. Then, add the buttermilk and baking soda.
Mix together the eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla in a small bowl, and add to the batter. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 25 minutes. Allow cake to cool completely in the pan.
Note: I need extra 15 minutes to bake the cake.
This looks wonderful! I love the chocolate-cinnamon combination. It seems like it would be a fantastic autumn dessert--although I know I'll be trying it before then. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic!! Your bundt looks so perfect! Wasn't this easy and yummy?! I love the style of your bundt! If I weren't the Food Librarian, I might be the Bundt Girl. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you liked the recipe! Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy mom's been making this cake for as long as I can remember, and it's definitely making its way around the blogosphere these days. I love showing her everyone's posts - she gets such a kick out of it.
You had better luck with how pretty this cake turned out... I had problems with getting it out of the pan...totally my fault. This cake was gone is less than 2 days. My family loved it... next time, I'll use a new pan and be sure to cool it completely.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I can come close to your beautiful bundt cake.
@annie: You're most welcome!
ReplyDelete@The Food Librarian: Thanks and you're spot on! LOL! Hey, you definitely have plenty of recipes on "bundt" baking :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Ellie, thanks for sharing the wonderful recipe around the blogosphere. Such a great recipe, simple yet delish!
ReplyDelete@A feast for the Eyes: I'm sure the cake will come out perfect with a well greased pan and have plenty of patience to wait for the cake to cool down ;)
ReplyDeleteCake looks good - but not when I printed out 5 pages just to get the recipe. Try having a printer friendly feature on your site.
