If you love eating prawns, then you should try my Steamed Prawns recipe. This is a popular dish in many Chinese restaurants. This dish is also known as Drunken Prawns. The live prawns are first soak with cooking wine before being steamed. The result? Tasty, sweet and delicious!
Steamed Spot Prawns
Ingredients
500 g Spot Prawns
8 to 10 Tbsp Chinese Cooking Wine (Hua Tiao Chiew/Shao Xing)
3 Thai Bird's Eye Chilies, thinly sliced
5 Slices Ginger, julienned
A Pinch of Sea Salt
Method
Soaked the prawns with Chinese Cooking Wine for about 10 minutes.
Prepare the steamer. Sprinkle the ginger, chilies and sea salt on top of the prawns. Steam for about 8 to 10 minutes on high heat. Serve immediately.
It just doesn't get any simpler than this to cook prawns. I like the idea of soaking them in Chinese Cooking wine.
